01 · Furlan wins NLPA 2026
AWARD WINNER — The Natural Landscape Photography Awards have published their 2026 results. Lukas Furlan is Photographer of the Year, after finishing runner-up last year. Abraham Saikley took Photograph of the Year. No AI, no compositing allowed. Furlan skipped the main viewpoints for smaller details. Gabriel Stankiewicz won the Project award in pine forests he once thought were unphotogenic. Real work, close to home, wins.

- The NLPA has published its 2026 results, calling them Year 6 of the Natural Landscape Photography Awards, and says the RAW file of every awarded image was checked against its rules.
- Lukas Furlan is Photographer of the Year after finishing runner-up last year. Dorin Bofan is runner-up and Koki Dote is third.
- Abraham Saikley won Photograph of the Year. The category winners are Xavier Lequarré (Grand Landscape), Hiroyuki Tsuchiya (Intimate Landscape) and Vincenzo Mazza (Abstract Landscape).
Furlan says he avoided the main viewpoints and looked for smaller details, and Stankiewicz found his winning project in pine forests he once thought were 'unphotogenic'. Both show you can win with realistic, unmanipulated work made close to home.

02 · Abbey Road music winners named
AWARD WINNER — The Abbey Road Music Photography Awards have named their 2026 winners, from over 24,500 images across 42 countries. Joshua Halling won Music Moment of the Year, the public vote, with an Oasis fan caught mid-crowd in Buenos Aires. Giulia Spadafora won Festivals with the Glastonbury audience. Dara Petrova is Emerging Photographer of the Year. The pattern? Turn around. At any gig, the fans can be your stronger picture.
- Over 24,500 images were submitted from across 42 different countries for this year's awards.
- Joshua Halling won Music Moment of the Year, the only public-voted category, for his image of an Oasis fan caught in the middle of the crowd during Oasis' 2025 tour in Buenos Aires.
- Tom Pallant won Live Music with Yungblud and his bassist Silke Blansjaar engulfed in fog, and Gabrielle Ravet won Behind the Scenes with My Chemical Romance fans before the first show of the Long Live The Black Parade tour in Seattle.
Several of the winners point the camera at the crowd rather than the stage, which is a good reminder that at any gig you can get a stronger picture by turning around and photographing the fans.

03 · Nadav Kander at Foam Amsterdam
EXHIBITION — In Amsterdam, Foam Fotografiemuseum is showing Nadav Kander's 'The edge of things' until 31 Jan 2027. Kander places quiet figures carefully in wide landscapes. It's a lesson in restraint, in composition and in colour. And you get three shows in one visit: Hailun Ma's 'Hometown' runs until 20 Jan 2027, and Keerthana Kunnath's 'Not What You Saw' until 27 Nov.

04 · Moriyama in Paris: last week
EXHIBITION — Last call in Paris. The Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson closes 'Daido Moriyama - Lettres d'amour à la photographie' on 4 October 2026. That's this week. Moriyama's grainy, high-contrast street work is a lesson in shooting on instinct, not chasing technical perfection. 'Nuits Balnéaires - Eboro' runs on the same dates. Find it at 79, rue des Archives, 75003 Paris.
